Abstract 
디자인 교육은 1919년 독일의 바우하우스에서 시작되어 오늘날까지 많은 변화와 발전을 가져왔다. 우리나라의 디자인 교육 또한 1940년대 이후부터 지금에 이르기까지 산업의 발달에 민감하게 반응하여 변화하고 있다. 더욱이 1990년대에 들어와서 급속한 정보화의 진전으로 컴퓨터는 우리 생활의 필수적인 도구로 자리잡고 있으며, 디자인 환경도 이제는 컴퓨터와 분리시켜 생각할 수 없게 되었다. 이러한 변화 속에서 디자인 교육은 컴퓨터라는 매체를 이용하여 어떻게 가르칠 것이냐 하는 문제가 매우 중요시되는 시점이다. 특히 멀티미디어 환경으로의 급속한 전환은 컴퓨터그래픽스의 다양한 기능을 요구하고 있어 디자이너들은 기술의 발전에 대응하기 위하여 끊임없이 노력하여야 할 것이다. 하지만 궁극적으로 디자이너에게 요구되는 점은 창조적인 컨셉으로 문제를 해결할 수 있는 능력이며 이러한 점은 기술의 진보에 따라 더욱 부각될 것이다. , Design education, which was originated from Bauhaus of Germany in 1919, has changed and developed in various fields up to the present. Our education in Korea has also changed constantly and it has been affected sensitively by growth of industry since 1950's. Moreover, in 1990's the computer became an essential tool in our life as a result of rapid evolution of information industry. This change forces design environment not to be separated to the computer too. In such a evolution to the information era, it is an important matter in the design education how to instruct it using the computer. Especially, a rapid transformation to multimedia are requires various capabilities to designers, so they should persevere in their efforts to cope with the development of technologies. However, the ultimate requirements to the designers are capability to solve a problem with their creative concept. The capability may be stand out more transparently as the progress of technologies are achieved.
